Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect what the tools need to work and nothing else. No ad tracking, no selling data, no third-party analytics scripts following you around.

What we collect

• Account — your email address, a hashed password if you set one (we never see the password itself), and your name if Google provides it.
• Study data — the subjects you pick, your tracker progress, and settings you save.
• What you tell us about yourself — your year level, your school, how you found us, and what you came for. Every one of these is optional, you can skip the whole screen, and you can change or clear any of them from your account. We use them to work out what to build next. We don't ask for your date of birth, your address, or your phone number.
• Essay writer inputs and outputs — the prompts, passages, and settings you submit, and the essays generated from them. We keep these to run the service, count your allowance, and improve reliability.
• Timetable screenshots — if you scan your timetable for the calendar, the image is sent to Anthropic to be read, and we never store it. What we keep is what you confirm: the classes, rooms, teachers and bell times. Your name and student number are left out.
• Operational records — timestamps, error logs, and a hashed (not raw) network address used for abuse prevention.
• Usage analytics — which pages are visited and which tools get used. Vercel counts the visits; our own events record the tool actions, tied to a random identifier (vh_anon_id) kept in your browser's localStorage, not a cookie. It is never shared across sites and it resets whenever your browser storage is cleared. If you're signed in, those actions are also linked to your account; if you're not, we count the visit, not the person.

Every tool needs an account. The calculator still keeps the subjects and scores you enter in your browser, not on our servers.

Who processes it

Five services handle data on our behalf, each for one job:

• Vercel — hosting, and anonymous page-view counts.
• Supabase — accounts and database hosting.
• Stripe — payments. Your card details go to Stripe directly; we never see them.
• Anthropic — essay generation and reading timetable screenshots. The text you submit to the essay writer, and any timetable screenshot you scan, is sent to Anthropic's API. Neither is used to train their models.
• Resend — sending email: sign-in links, password resets, and the weekly calendar email if you turn it on. It gets your address and the email's contents, which for the calendar email are your SACs and exams for the next fortnight.

What we don't do

• Sell or share your data with advertisers.
• Read your essays for any reason beyond running and debugging the service.
• Email you anything that isn't about your account, a receipt, or the weekly calendar email. That one is off until you turn it on, and every copy has an unsubscribe link.

Retention, access, deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. Email support@vcehub.com.au to get a copy of your data or to delete your account — deletion removes your profile, study data, and generation history, subject to records we must keep for payments.

Under 18

Most of our users are. Nothing we ask about you — your year level, your school, how you found us — is required, and the account works the same if you skip all of it. We don't ask for your date of birth. Parents and guardians can use the same address above for access or deletion requests about their child's account.

The formal bit
